Multi-Currency Support in Returns
Last updated: April 23, 2026
Overview
Route Returns supports multi-currency out of the box. Customers will automatically see pricing in their local currency when browsing the Shop Now (storefront exchange) experience — no additional configuration required.
How It Works
Route leverages Shopify Markets to handle currency. When a customer opens the returns portal, Route passes their country as context to Shopify's Storefront API. Shopify returns product pricing in the appropriate local currency, exactly as the customer would see it on the merchant's main storefront.
For example:
A US customer browsing Shop Now will see prices in USD
A Canadian customer browsing Shop Now will see prices in CAD

Important: No Live Currency Conversion
Route does not perform its own live currency conversion for the Shop Now experience. Instead, we defer entirely to Shopify — whatever price Shopify returns for a given country is what the customer sees.
This means pricing in the returns portal is always consistent with what the customer would see if they were shopping directly on the merchant's storefront. We rely on whatever conversions the brand has set in their Shopify Markets.
